Scott Mitchell Hoyman

Scott Mitchell Hoyman, Summerville resident and labor leader, husband of Barbara Hoyman, died on Feb. 27, 2014 in Chapel Hill, NC after a prolonged struggle with Alzheimers. He was 93.

Services will be held on Sunday, June 1, 2014 at 2 p.m. at St. Paulís Episcopal Church at 316 W. Carolina Ave., Summerville. Burial will follow in the churchyard.

Susan Walker Williams

Susan Walker Williams, wife of the late Dr. Joseph T. Taylor III and Lloyd B. Williams of Summerville, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2014. She was 77.

Susan was born on April 8, 1937 in Charleston, the daughter of the late Legare Walker and Susan Dwight Walker. She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of St. Paulís Summerville. She was a volunteer at HELP of Summerville and a past board member of The Timrod Library.

Susan is survived by two daughters, Ellen Taylor Oldland (Rev. William) of Cheraw, SC and Dr. Susan Taylor Woollen (Dr. Thomas Hayes) of Charlotte; one son, Joseph T. Taylor (Kimberly) of Irmo, SC; one sister, Ellen Walker Smith (John Hamilton) of Yonges Island; three stepsons, Lloyd B. Williams III (Vicki) of Isle of Palms, David P. Williams (Chrissy) of Awendaw, Thomas W. Williams (Marie) of Pawleyís Island; one stepdaughter, Frances Williams Furr (Hurley) of Wadmalaw Island; eight grandchildren, and eight step-grandchildren. In addition to her husbands and parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Legare Walker III.

The family would like to thank Clara Capers for the care and support she continuously showed us all.

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, May 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Parks Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday afternoon, May 23, at 2 p.m. at St. Paulís Summerville. Burial will follow in the churchyard.
