Pinewood Prep senior Evan Schwartz has signed to play basketball for Erskine College.

Schwartz was joined by family members, friends, classmates, coaches and Pinewood officials last week during a signing celebration held at the school. That day he was also honored as a recipient of Pinewood’s Scholar Athlete Award.

Schwartz entered Pinewood as a freshman. His strong character and work ethic helped him achieve high marks in coursework while involvement in organizations such as the 4-H Club and Palmetto Boys’ State provided opportunities for him to develop as a leader.

He was a standout for both the Pinewood football and basketball teams who worked diligently to achieve his goal of playing basketball at the college level.
