Early in her career, Dr. Rose Delores Gibbs worked as a U.S. Peace Corps medical officer West Africa, starting in 1979. “I became very keen on preventive medicine,” she says. “I would talk with patients about what was wrong with them, arm them with information about their medical problems and tell them how they could take responsibility to prevent some of those problems.” She brought that philosophy to her internal medicine practice in Moncks Corner, where she has served residents from Berkeley County and beyond for 27 years and built a network of volunteers who put on health fairs and do outreach. “I like seeing positive results from my efforts with patients and helping patients to learn and understand what's going on with their bodies.”
