Get ready for the South’s favorite drink.
Tuesday, June 10 is National Sweet Tea Day and some Summerville restaurants are celebrating by giving out free sweet tea.
Patrons will receive a free sweet tea when dining in from participating restaurant thanks to the sponsorship of the Summerville Restaurant Association.
Participating restaurants are Cantina’s Burgers, Tacos, Beers; Gilligan’s Seafood, Montreux Bar & Grill, Newk’s Eatery, Oscar’s, Toast of Summerville, and West Farm Cafe & Market.
People who participate in National Sweet Tea Day will be entered into a drawing to win two free tickets for the Summerville Trolley Tour.
A winner will be drawn from each restaurant location.
The Summerville Trolley, which is an element of the Sweet Tea Trail to promote Summerville as the birthplace of sweet tea, includes Good Eats on the Sweet Tea Trolley.
The Sweet Tea Trolley is a trolley tour that takes guests through downtown Summerville, with Storyteller Tim Lowery. The trolley leaves every third Friday at 10 a.m. and provides guests with various sweet tea delicacies and other treats, such as sweet tea cupcakes with lemon cream frosting.
