Cash campaigns in Summerville

  • Friday, June 6, 2014

Cash supporters made their presence felt during the candidate’s Summerville visit.

U.S. Senate candidate Richard Cash made a stop in Summerville Tuesday as part of a get-out-the-vote push in the run-up to next week’s primary.

Cash is one of six Republicans running against incumbent Sen. Lindsey Graham.

Cash said he’s running because he offers a small-government alternative to Graham. Graham started out conservative, he said, but changed when he moved from the House to the Senate.

“He was helping the Republicans run up the debt when the Republicans were supposed to stand for smaller government,” Cash said.

Cash was accompanied by a cadre of teens and young adults, his “youth brigade” helping with the get-out-the-vote effort. Most of the young people are from out of state, he said, particularly Texas.
