Elliget named Region Player of the Year

Adam Elliget has been named the Region Player of the Year.


Officials released the Region 8-AAAA All-region Boys Tennis Team last week.

Summerville claimed the top honor on the list but Ashley Ridge and Fort Dorchester are also included.

Green Wave junior Adam Elliget has been named the Region Player of the Year. Teammate Walker Long is also on the All-region Team.

Harrison Parvey and Michael Marshall represent Ashley Ridge on the team while Tommy McManus represents Fort Dorchester.

Other members of the team are Beaufort’s Alex Angus, James Bachety and Jack Louw; Bluffton’s Aaron Newland and Richard Snyder; and Colleton County’s Kenny Johnson and Charles Bailey.

Beaufort’s Dave Reidmayer was named the Region Coach of the Year after leading the Eagles to a 9-1 mark in region play and the 2014 region championship.

Summerville finished as the region runner-up with an 8-2 region record. Trailing in the region team standings are Bluffton (7-3), Ashley Ridge (4-6), Colleton County (2-8) and Fort Dorchester (0-10).
