While Dr. J. Corey Allen's practice encompasses all major aspects of urology care, one of his special interests is in kidney stone disease, a common health problem here. “We live in the Stone Belt in the South,” says Dr. Allen, who grew up in Lumberton, N.C. , and recently relocated from the Tarheel state to join Palmetto Adult & Children's Urology in North Charleston. “We offer the full range of treatment options for kidney stones, and for the most part they are all minimally invasive techniques.” Dr. Allen is board certified by the American Board of Urology, and he also specializes in the treatment of prostate and kidney cancers. During his residency, he received extensive training with the da Vinci surgical robot for prostate and renal cancers and urological reconstruction. With each case, Dr. Allen strives for good communication and shared decision-making with patients. “My goal is to provide the best possible care.”
“I want patients to feel comfortable with how we are proceeding in their treatment plans and make sure they are well informed,” – Corey Allen, MD
