Four local titleholders ready for Miss SC pageant

Miss Summerville, Miss Summerville Teen, Miss North Charleston, and Miss North Charleston Teen were honored at a send-off party on Sunday, June 8 at the Golf Club at Wescott Plantation.

The four titleholders are in final preparations for the 2014 Miss South Carolina Pageant. Each titleholder presented her state competition wardrobe and talent selection, and spoke on her platform to the group of volunteers, supporters, and sponsors in attendance. All contestants will report to Columbia and begin rehearsals this Saturday.

Interviews will begin on Monday, and preliminary competitions will take place Tuesday through Thursday. Miss South Carolina Teen finals will be held on Friday, June 27, and Miss South Carolina 2014 will be crowned on Saturday, June 28, both at the Township Auditorium. The Miss South Carolina finals will be televised locally on MyTV at 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 28.

Miss Summerville Shelby Dangerfield, Miss Summerville Teen Morgan Elvis, and Miss North Charleston Teen Christen Norman will present a vocal selection, and Miss North Charleston Sophie LaBelle will perform a high-energy jump-rope routine at the state pageant. The four contestants will also compete in private interview, lifestyle and fitness, evening wear, and on-stage question.

The Miss North Charleston / Miss Summerville Scholarship Pageant is an official preliminary of the Miss South Carolina and Miss America pageants. For more information on the local scholarship program, contact MissNChasSvilleOrg@gmail.com.
