The Summerville Police Department is investigating another shots fired incident that happened about 7 p.m. Thursday near the Robynwyn neighborhood.

No injuries were reported, according to Capt. Jon Rogers of the Summerville Police Department.

According to a police report, officers responded to a call about shots fired; while they were enroute they received information that the alleged shooter was a white male wearing no shirt and camouflage shorts, and that he fled the area in a black sedan.

Officers found no one at the park; however, they did made contact with a number of male subjects at a house on Tulip Street. The officers also found a black Dodge Avenger sedan parked in the back yard. The officers displayed weapons and ordered the subjects in the back yard to lie on the grass. Officers also could see several subjects in the laundry room of the house, one of whom was a white male with no shirt and camouflage shorts.

Officers detained that subject and transported him to the Summerville Police Department for questioning; they also performed a gun residue test on the subject’s hands. They later released him, Rogers said.

All the subjects at the house, including the subject the officers took to the police department for questioning, said they did not shoot a gun nor did they see anyone shooting a gun.

Officers found no weapons at the house; they did find one spent 9 millimeter shell casing near the gazebo in Wassamassaw Park, according to the report.

No arrests have been made as of yet, however, the gun residue data has been sent to the State Law Enforcement Division crime lab to be processed.

“We hope to develop evidence from this to make arrests in this case, “ Rogers said, adding that it may take some time for the results of the test come back from the lab.

The case is under investigation, Rogers said.
