LifeManagement Center, Inc. is excited to announce that they have been selected by Pinewood Preparatory School to provide instruction to students in grades 1-3 with language-based learning differences. The Transitions Program is designed to assist highly capable students whose poor reading skills are preventing them from meeting expectations and reaching their potential. The Transitions Program will provide daily language arts instruction using the Orton-Gillingham-based Wilson Program.
This program is a unique opportunity for students to get 90 minutes per day of Orton-Gillingham-based language instruction. Few schools can offer that type of intensive intervention. The Transitions Program is a unique partnership between LifeManagement Center and Pinewood Preparatory school that is available to students from around and beyond the Tri-County area.
Research shows that early intervention has the best outcome. The Transitions Program targets students who need to learn how to read in a different way than is traditionally taught in the classroom and at a time when learning reading skills will produce the greatest impact. The goal is for students to spend 1 or 2 years in the program and transition into the regular classroom for language arts instruction.
Dr. Nancy Bell of LifeManagement Center will be teaching students for ninety (90) minutes each day in language arts. Additionally, students will participate in math, science, social studies, all “specials” classes, school trips and extracurricular programming with their regular classmates.
