CJ Cosby

CJ Cosby is a name Swamp Fox fans could hear a lot this fall.

The rising junior has a lot of tools and is looking to make a bigger impact with the Ashley Ridge football team next season. Cosby spent a year on the B-team and a year on the JV before making the varsity squad last year.

He was in the process of vying for running-back position when coaches moved him to the defensive side of the ball to fill a need. After spending much of last season on the defensive line, he says he is looking forward to continuing that role this year.

Early on we lost a starting defensive end so they moved me there and I had to learn the position, Cosby said. Im proud of how I played and Im looking forward to doing anything I can to help us be a better team.

Cosby isnt just quick, he also has some strength. During the South Carolina State Strength Meet this spring he won his division.

He also stands to see a lot of action on special teams. He has experience with the kick off, kick off return, punt and punt return units.

His goals include earning a college athletic scholarship.

He says if he ever has to give up football, he thinks he would enjoy a career as an athletic trainer.
