They’ll be shouting hallelujah and rolling in the aisles with laughter when Storyteller Tim Lowry presents his new one-man show “Churched!” at the historic Timrod Library on July 18, 2014 at 3:00 pm. Lowry, the library’s resident storyteller, will tell of Sunday school shenanigans, a Gullah table tapping sermon, and a Christian chicken. “I’m a preacher’s kid,” says Lowry, “and I grew up seeing the humor in church rituals and traditions.” The ticket price is $15 and includes light refreshments from Summerville’s famous Sweet Tea Trail.
This concert is part of a storytelling series titled “Postcards from the Sweet Tea Trail” that mixes stories of personal experience, literary classics, and seasonal folklore. The stories are for adult listeners with content being appropriate for a family audience. Seating is limited and advance purchase of tickets is strongly recommended.
