Dorothy Roszell Hyatt

Dorothy Roszell Hyatt, 91, widow of Charles Hyatt, of Summerville, SC, passed away Saturday, July 5, 2014 at a Charleston hospital.

Funeral services will be held Thursday morning, July 10, 2014 at Parks Funeral Home Chapel at 11 o’clock. Burial will follow in Summerville Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Parks Funeral Home Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 o’clock. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans (DAV), c/o James Ray, 152 Moon Dance Lane, Summerville, SC 29483.

Dorothy was born on September 7, 1922 in Charleston, SC, a daughter of David Omer Roszell and Annie Mary Jamison Roszell. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include one son, Chuck Hyatt of Summerville; three daughters, Jane Hyatt Vail of Daniel Island, Joanne Hyatt Tindall of Rock Hill, SC, Becky Hyatt Rickenbaker of Lexington, SC; one sister, Audrey Foster of Charleston, SC; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Hyatt was predeceased by her daughter, Susan Joan Hyatt, her siblings, John Roszell, David “Sonny” Roszell and Mary Bell Veronee.
