Entering the final week of the summer recreational youth swimming season, some things are still on the line.

The 2014 Coastal Carolina Aquatics Association is scheduled to wrap up its 2014 dual meets this week and the Blue League did not have a regular season champion Tuesday as teams competed after press time. The Country Club of Charleston entered Tuesday’s action with a 6-1 record and in the lead for the Blue League, but two Summerville-area teams were still in the hunt.

Pine Forest suffered its first loss of the season on July 1 when Legend Oaks edged out the Porpoises by nine points in their dual meet. However, Pine Forest carried a 5-1 league record into this week, which included a meet between the Porpoises and the Country Club Phish Tuesday.

Ashborough kept its hopes of claiming a piece of the title alive Thursday by defeating Legend Oaks 399-198 to improve its league record to 5-2 and drop Legend Oaks to 4-3.

Fort Johnson also entered this week with a 4-3 mark in the Blue League. I’On and the Summerville YMCA teams entered the week at 1-5 and the Jewish Community Center entered at 0-6.

After earning at least a piece of the Red League championship for the past six seasons, Coosaw Creek will finish this season in second place with a 5-1 league record. Snee Farm, which defeated the Crocodiles 286-250 on June 12, won Thursday to improve to 6-0 in the league and clinch the title. Both teams entered this week with one meet remaining but since the meets were against White League teams the results had no bearing on the Red League championship.

Trailing in the Red League standings are Daniel Island (3-3), Northbridge Terrace (3-3), Hobcaw (2-4), Shadowmoss (2-4) and Parkshore (0-6).

Dunes West has clinched the White League championship with a 6-0 mark in the league with only one non-league meet remaining.

Trailing in the league standings are Crowfield (4-2), Sha-Mel-Lon (4-2), Newington (3-3), Brickyard (2-4), James Island (1-5) and Longpoint (1-5).

Once the teams complete their regular season, they will begin preparing for the association’s championship meet (City Meet).

This summer, the championship meet will be held July 18-20 at the Crowfield Golf and Country Club pool.
