The Charleston Power Brigade will host its Summer Baseball Camp Aug. 11-15 at Wescott Park in North Charleston.
The camp, for athletes age 7-15, is designed to provide children with the information and knowledge they need to take their game to the next level. Players will receive instruction from former major league players such as Britt Reames, Bryce Florie and Patrick Sexton as well as former and current college players from USC, The Citadel, College of Charleston, Coker, and Western Carolina and high school coaches.
Campers will select two different defensive positions to focus on and will spend time each day developing their skills in their positions. All players will also focus on the fundamentals of hitting, base running and other team fundamentals.
Camp will run from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
In the morning, campers will learn the fundamentals of the game by doing position specific work (pitchers, catchers, infielders, and outfielders), group hitting, base-running and similar activities. Lunch will be provided daily.
In the afternoons, focus will shift toward fun, skill reinforcement and games.
Cost is $195 per camper. Participants should bring their own glove, bat, cleats, sneakers and helmet.
