Sportsman Boats Manufacturing, a manufacturer of saltwater fishing boats, is more than doubling the size of its existing facility in Dorchester County. The $3.5 million investment is expected to create 150 new jobs.

The 74,000-square-foot facility located on 113 Isaac Way in Summerville will be expanded by approximately 116,000 square feet to accommodate growing demand of the companyís product line.

Sportsmanís product offering currently includes 10 models ranging in size from 20-25 feet that are center consoles, bay boats and dual console boats designed for saltwater enthusiasts. The company plans to launch several new models in the near future.

Those interested in a position with Sportsman may apply in person or send their resumes to P.O. Box 2100, Summerville, S.C. 29484.

The Coordinating Council for Economic Development approved job development credits and a $200,000 set aside grant for the project.
