  • Thursday, August 7, 2014

Summerville Police have named 24-year-old Christopher Adam Mitchell as the suspect in yesterday’s bank robbery at South State Bank.

They’re asking for the public’s help to locate Mitchell, and say he should be considered armed and dangerous.

He is wanted for entering a financial institution with the intent to steal.

A man entered the South State Bank at 402 North Main St. about 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, pointed a gun at the teller and demanded cash.

At the time, the suspect was described as an olive-skinned man between 50 and 60 years old.

Police say Mitchell has ties to North Charleston and Summerville, and ask if anyone knows his location to contact Summerville Police at 851-4100 or Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
