Things seemed to go well for the Green Wave football team during its first preseason scrimmage of 2014.
Summerville put on full pads Tuesday for its first competition of this yearís campaign, a scrimmage with Manning. While there is room for improvement, all things considered the Summerville team looked strong.
The Green Wave offense moved the ball well and scored four touchdowns to take a 28-0 lead in the third quarter. Summerville then went largely to its backup players for the rest of the evening.
Running backs Chris Felder and Darrell Ford both had some nice carries, and both found the end zone.
The Wave didnít go to the air a lot, but starting quarterback Sawyer Bridges did complete multiple passes.
The Summerville defense also looked strong against Manning.
New kicker Edward DeLong hit multiple PAT attempts and other than a partially blocked punt the rest of the kicking game went well for the Green Wave.
On Friday morning, Summerville has its final preseason scrimmage as it hosts Beaufort at Memorial Stadium.
