A Ladson man is charged with armed robbery, and three teenagers are charged with accessory after the fact, after a woman reported she was robbed at Planters Retreat apartments on Ladson Road.

Jarvis Meggett, 18, of 4370 Ladson Road, was arrested Aug. 5.

The victim told police she was walking down the stairs from the second floor of the apartments to the first when four black males approached.

Two had handguns, she told police, and those two demanded money.

She told them she didnít have any money, and when she opened her purse to show them, they grabbed the purse, she told police.

The woman started screaming, at which point a friend heard her and ran upstairs, chasing off the armed men, according to an incident report.

Police located the suspects in multiple buildings throughout the apartment complex.

Meggett was charged and taken into custody.

According to Capt. Jon Rogers, Summerville Police Department spokesman, the juveniles were charged with accessory after the fact.
