Bethany United Methodist dedicating new worship space

  • Friday, August 29, 2014

The Summerville community is invited to Bethany United Methodist Church on Sunday, Sept. 7, at 8:45 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall when the church will dedicate and celebrate its new contemporary worship space.

Bethany has held a contemporary worship service for eight years. The Word and Table contemporary worship service attendance has more than doubled in the past year, spurning a recent renovation of the existing Fellowship Hall.

The Fellowship Hall now functions more like a contemporary worship center – a newly outfitted space with state-of-the-art audio/visual technology, new lighting, real-time monitors and sound equipment. The stage area was also remodeled to serve as the new altar area.

With this expansion, Bethany UMC hopes to meet an expressed need to accommodate more worshippers each Sunday. Just as important, it hopes to have space to invite a larger sector of the community, reaching out to introduce or reconnect more of our neighbors with Jesus. The renovations will also allow the space to remain multifunctional when not used for worship, to accommodate other Bethany ministries and community gatherings.

Bethany United Methodist Church is located at 118 W. Third South Street, Summerville. For more information contact the Rev. Adriane Burgess at aburgess@bethany-umc.com or (843) 873-1230.
