  • Tuesday, September 2, 2014

The Patriots earned a 46-7 win over Carolina Forest Friday in their home opener.

Fort Dorchester turned in a solid performance to improve to 2-0 on the season. The Patriots scored with their offense, defense and special teams.

The tone was set on Carolina Forestís first drive when lineman Eurndraus Bryant sacked the Panthersí quarterback and forced a fumble, which he recovered in the end zone for a safety. The Fort defense went on to force several other turnovers during the game.

Patriots QB Kobe Garrett played a big role in the victory, scoring multiple touchdowns including one on a punt return.

Both Fort victories this season came in a convincing fashion.

Fort opened its season last week with a 34-10 victory over South Florence, which entered the game ranked fifth in the S.C. Prep Media Class AAAA Football Poll.

This Friday, the Patriots host Cane Bay at 7:30 p.m.

The Cobras are 1-1 with a 28-27 win over Colleton County during Week Zero and a 15-13 loss to Summerville during Week 1.
