The Lady Green Wave volleyball team improved to 1-1 on the season with a win over Baptist Hill Wednesday.

Summerville defeated Baptist Hill 25-8, 25-7 in the Lady Green Wave’s 2014 home opener.

“We didn’t play that well at Goose Creek last week so hopefully this win will lift our spirits,” Summerville coach Rachel Page said.

Page was able to work a lot of subs onto the court, which is a good thing early in the season. This year’s Lady Green Wave team consists of 12 players. Three are seniors, three are juniors, five are sophomores and one is a freshman.

This weekend, Summerville plays in the Sumter Tournament. Then the Lady Green Wave will face a pair of matches on the road before returning home Sept. 17 to host Pinewood at 6 p.m.
