Girl Scout Troop 191 of Summerville met with 13 of the 16 members of its original troop Aug. 22 in Ridgeville.
The ladies jokingly call themselves “The Medicare Troop” as they are all age 65 or older. They started in Girl Scouts together as Brownies in Summerville all those years ago.
Girl Scouts of Eastern SC’s CEO Loretta Graham attended part of Friday’s meeting to present the ladies with a special gift and to spend some quality Girl Scout time and hear their stories.
Some of the Girl Scouts returned to Summerville for this meeting from Murrell’s Inlet and Awendaw here in South Carolina; North Carolina; Tennessee and as far away as California.
