Franklin and Joan Simmons of Summerville celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary September 2.
Franklin Simmons, originally of North Dartmouth, Mass., is retired from Carolina Capacitors Inc., subsidiary of Baldor Electric Corp.
Joan Simmons, maiden name Hobson, is originally of Fairhaven, Mass.
The couple have two children and three grandchildren.
Their children are David Simmons and wife Karen Martin Simmons of Summerville, and Scott F. Simmons and Teresa Lovell. Their grandchildren are Christopher and his wife Kira Simmons of Florence; Michael Simmons of Florence; and Amy Simmons of Harleyville, S.C.
Franklin Simmons is a WWII Veteran. He has an electrical engineering degree from the University of Massachusetts. Franklin and Joan are members of Summerville Presbyterian Church. They have made Summerville, South Carolina their home since 1968. They enjoy camping, fishing and traveling throughout SC and the US in their Airstream trailer. They have visited all 50 states and several Canadian Provinces.
We all, family and friends, cherish and love you both. Thank you for everything you have done and continue to do for us. You represent the best as role models. May God continue to bless you. 65 years of marriage is worthy of celebration.
