Kim's Fine Jewelry, Summerville's newest jewelry retailer held its ribbon cutting on Tuesday, October 23 at 1216B North Main Street in the AT&T Shopping Center near Burger King at the entrance to the Azalea Square.
Taking part in the ribbon cutting ceremony were Mayor Bill Collins, Owner Kim Colucci Lizzi, husband Chris Lizzi, along with representatives of the GS/DC Chamber of Commerce and business leaders.
"This is wonderful day in my life, to be here in Summerville and cutting a ribbon to open my first retail location," exclaimed Kim Colucci Lizi, as she stood between Mayor Collins and her husband for numerous photographs.
Mayor Collins used the giant scissors to cut a bright red ribbon with a large bow that underscored the window sign announcing the new retail site of the business.
"I've had the greatest pleasure to know the Colucci family for many years. I am very happy to help celebrate this retail facility's opening today. This new store brings additional products and services to all of us who live in Summerville and nearby. It is my pleasure to give you and your staff at Kim's Fine Jewelry my pledge to assist you any way to help your new business grow and prosper. Welcome to Summerville." said a smiling Mayor Collins.
Kim thanked her new staff at the store, saluted the Chamber for its help in getting open, nearby businesses that stopped by to assist her, the local SCORE volunteers, and "all of my friends and family who have assisted me in opening this new store in the Lowcountry," she said.
"Our store fills an important niche in the community as we lead the way in fine jewelry retailing. We are also offering hometown, lower pricing and the latest in styles and fashions in fine jewelry," Lizzi added.
The Colucci family is well known as a diamond and jewelry retailer, which has been in business in the three county region since 1975.
Kim’s store covers 1500 square feet of space and has ample parking in front and around the store's .
Lizzi thanked her guests at the ribbon cutting and noted this new store is a dream come true. "My life has been a real whirlwind the last 2 - 3 days. I am very thankful that business associates and friends of mine have been helping me in so many small and big ways. With this ribbon cutting I have accomplished one of my chief goals -- to open my own jewelry store," she concluded.
