Ashley Elizabeth Abide and William Thomas Jeter were united in marriage on June 5, 2010, in a ceremony at the Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist in Charleston, South Carolina.
The bride’s uncle, Reverend William Miller, officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Andrew Elias Abide Sr. of Greenville, Mississippi. She was given in marriage by her father.
The bride’s designer gown of alencon lace and silk organza featured a lace bodice with a beaded flower detail at the waist. She wore a pearl bracelet given to her as a gift from the groom, as well as a diamond necklace borrowed from her mother.
Leslie Ann Abide, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Molly Jeter Netzler Betsy Nicholson Bagwell Audra Tew Henegan Frances Powell Minis Sarah Elizabeth Starnes Carla Crosby Ward Lexie Carroll Wren Doty Wohrman Yates
The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Randolph Jeter of Summerville, South Carolina. The groom’s father was his best man.
The groomsmen were Andrew Elias Abide Jr.,David Michael Abide, Benjamin Bostick, Jeter, Peter Clifford Netzler, Shaun White Garrison, William Jessen Cuthbert, John William Andrews IV and Ryan Michael Shenoha.
The ushers were Andrew Thomas Bleckley, Zachary Taylor Hanna,Mark Phillip Johnson, Franklin Boyce Tuten, and Shaun Robert Wahl.
The bride is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Louis Miller of Opelousas, Louisiana; and Mrs. Paul Edward Abide Sr. and the late Mr. Paul Edward Abide Sr.
The groom is the grandson of Mrs. Frank Bostick Lawton and the late Mr. Frank Bostick Lawton; and Mrs. James Phillips Jeter and the later Mr. James Phillips Jeter.
The bride has just finished an Internal Medicine residency at MUSC and will now begin a fellowship in Hematology/Oncology, also at MUSC. The groom is a consultant for Accenture.
After a wedding trip to Bora Bora and Mo'orea, French Polynesia , the couple will reside in Charleston.
