Mary Elizabeth Benedict of Atlanta, Georgia and William Henry Fishburne of Charleston, South Carolina were married on October 15, 2011. The Reverend J. Haden McCormick officiated the 6:30 p.m. ceremony.
The wedding and reception were held at the home of the bride’s grandmother, Mrs. Ralph William Sullivan in Summerville, South Carolina.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hanford Benedict Jr. of Atlanta. The bride was given in marriage by her father.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Burnett Fishburne Jr. of Charleston. The groom's father served as best man.
The matron of honor was Mrs. Lilla Lane Clark. Attending bridesmaids were Mrs. Elizabeth Fishburne Morgan, Miss Mary Abigail Massalon, Miss Mary FitzSimmons Fishburne and Miss Susanna Sullivan Massalon.
Groomsmen were Mr. Bo Sullivan Benedict, Mr. Henry Ellerbe Grimball Jr., Mr. James Frederick Bakker and Mr. William Thomas Rivers.
The bride is the granddaughter of Mrs. Ralph William Sullivan and the late Mr. Sullivan of Summerville; and Dr. Walter Hanford Benedict and the late Mrs. Rose McClamroch Benedict of Knoxville, Tennessee.
The groom is the grandson of Mrs. John Alexander Stedman and the late Mr. Stedman of Murrell's Inlet, South Carolina; and the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Burnett Fishburne of Charleston.
The couple honeymooned in the Turks and Caicos Islands. They will make their home in Charleston.
