Mary Barnwell Beauchene and Brian Keith Smith exchange vows

Mary Barnwell Beauchene, of Columbia, and Brian Keith Smith, of Greenville, surprised family and friends by exchanging vows at their engagement party on May 1, 2010.  The Reverend Ralph David Ruth, of Kingstree, officiated the 6pm ceremony.  The party, hosted by the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Charles Beauchene of Summerville, was held at Fair Springs Stables in Summerville.

The bride is the granddaughter of Mrs. Kenneth Francis Beauchene and the late Mr. Kenneth Francis Beauchene and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Augustus Boyle, Jr. all of Summerville.  She is a graduate of Clemson University and is employed by MedQuest/SC Diagnostic Imaging as an Area Marketing Manager.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Carner Smith, Jr. of Kingstree.  He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Carner Smith, Sr. of Kingstree and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Preston Boyd of Trio.  He is a graduate of Presbyterian College and is employed by Norgenix as a Medical Sales Representative.

Mrs. Molly Beauchene Serpas, cousin of the bride, served as matron of honor and Dr. Dendy Elizabeth Engelman, cousin of the bride, served as maid of honor.  Mr. Fritz Carner Smith, Jr., father of the groom, and Mr. Preston Fritz Smith, brother of the groom, served as best men.

The couple honeymooned in San Francisco and the California wine country.

A tea in Kingstree was hosted by Mrs. George Avent, Mrs. A.E. Martin, Mrs. Henry Poston, Mrs. Aubrey Williamson and Mrs. Henry Williamson, friends of the groom’s mother, on June 12, 2010.  

A miscellaneous shower in Summerville was hosted by Mrs. John Altman, Mrs. William Beauchene, Mrs. George Brown, Mrs. Otis Engelman, Dr. Dendy Engelman and Mrs. Denny Parker, relatives of the bride, on July 24, 2010.
