Summers, Gesling trade vows

Mary Helen Summers was married to Daniel Brent Gesling, both of Summerville, S.C., on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009. The wedding was held at Summerville Presbyterian Church and was officiated by the Rev. Mike Shelton. A reception was held at Knight’s Barn in Summerville.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Brooks Summers, of Summerville.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Wayne Moorer, of Summerville, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Daniel Gesling, of Ridgeville, S.C.

The bride wore an ivory drop waist gown with rouching on the bodice. It was accented with beading along the waist. Her gown featured covered buttons down the train. The birde wore her mother’s veil and carried a bouquet of orange and pink gerbera daisies accented with tulips. Attached to her bouquet was a Bible that belonged to her grandfather, the late Glenn Bennett.

The matron of honor was Sarah Knight Anderson. Bridesmaids were Laura Ashleigh Moorer, sister of the groom, Jennifer Connor Summers and Heather Poole Summers, sisters-in-law of the bride, Maegan Virginia Anderson, and Laura Taylor Hetzel. The reader was Ellizabeth Gilreath Johnson.

The best man was Bryan Dennis Baker. Groomsmen were Taylor Vernon Summers and Stewart Glenn Summers, brothers of the bride, Lance Devon Anderson, and Stephen Edward Alsbrook.

The bride is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Bennett, of Great Falls, S.C. and Mr. and Mrs. Shellie Vernon Summers, of Branchville, S.C.

The groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Rogers, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Eugene Knight, Sr., and Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Marshall Gesling, all of Summerville, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lee Gaskins, of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.

The couple will honeymoon on a cruise to the Bahamas and will reside in Ridgeville.
