Maya Wolf and Sean Patrick Watts were united in marriage Sept. 19, 2009 in an ocean side, sunset wedding at Folly Beach, South Carolina.
The bride is the daughter of and Edwin A. and L. Jo Wolf of Monticello, Kentucky, and the granddaughter of the late Elizabeth and Dallas Montgomery and the late Susan and Edwin Wolf.
The groom is the son of the Honorable Patrick R. and Judy S. Watts of Summerville.
He is the grandson of Nelle Hammond Stein and the late Jack R. Stein of Camden, S.C., and Lotte Cleo Watts and the late Allen F. Watts, of Camden, S.C.
The groom’s father and the bride’s Godmother, Betsy Rodenbush of Grass Valley, Cal., performed the ceremony.
The bride was given in marriage by her father and mother. A bagpiper played as the bride’s father escorted the bride down an aisle lined with Osage oranges and bamboo poles topped with flowing white tulle streamers.
The bride wore a full-length ivory chiffon A-line gown. The dress featured an empire waist with pleated bust and beaded spaghetti straps. The beaded and embroidered illusion back fell into a center-stitched, chiffon ruffle that floated from the waist to the sweep train.
The bride was attended by her matron of honor, Laura Blaskowitz Bantz, of Keene, N.H.; and sisters, Phoebe Punnett of Louisville, Ky. and Jeneene Estridge of Berea, Ky. The bridal attendants wore knee-length cranberry strapless chiffon dresses. The women of the wedding party carried bouquets of green and cranberry calla lilies with orchids, tied in ivory satin ribbon. The bridal bouquet was wrapped with the groom’s Christening bonnet.
The Flower Girl, Corrina Punnett, wore a white organza dress with cranberry sash.
The men of the wedding party wore formal kilt outfits. Groomsmen were Jeff Bender of New Orleans, La. And Soren Wolf of Ravenel, S.C. Best Man was the groom’s brother, Paul R. Watts of Houston, Tex. The ring bearer was Jonah Punnett, who carried a ring pillow created by the bride’s mother that featured lace handkerchiefs tatted by the bride’s late grandmother.
The wedding was followed by a reception at Viewpoints at Folly Beach overlooking the Folly River.
The bride is a doctoral candidate in Marine Biology at the Oregon Institute of Marine Biology, University of Oregon. The groom is employed by the University of Oregon.
The couple resides in North Bend, Oregon and is planning a wedding trip to South America.
