McElveen, York wed in April wedding




Kyle Lauren McElveen of Winston-Salem, NC and Alan Shea York of Mount Airy, North Carolina were married April 5, 2008 at Centenary United Methodist Church in Winston-Salem, N.C. The wedding was officiated by Dr. Bob Nations. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Donald McElveen of Winston-Salem, NC.


The groom is the son of Ms. Vicki May York of Mount Airy, N.C. and Mr. and Mrs. Gary York of Pilot Mountain, NC.


The bride was given in marriage by her father, Mr. Robert Donald McElveen. The bride wore a blush-colored gown of dupioni silk with a ruched bodice. Its slightly scooped neckline was embellished with pearls and crystals, and the full pleated skirt extended into a cathedral-length train, accented by a cathedral-length veil adorned with pearls and crystals at the crown. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of white spring blossoms.


The matron of honor was, Mrs. Martha Anders. The maid of honor was, Miss Anna Grace Patterson. The bridesmaids were, Garrison York, Sally Bozard, Rebecca Taylor, Bethany Gillooly, Claire Jacobs, Lindsey Lollis. Honorary bridesmaids were, Ashley Watson, Courtenay Barfield, Tara Hofher, and Alisa Schanne. The flower girls were Kirsten Mann and Mary Hagan Slaughter. The ring bearer was Creed Sinclair.


The best man was, Mr. Gary York, father of the groom. Groomsmen were, Robert McElveen, Wilmot Spires III, Matthew Gunstra, Rob Livengood, Derek Slate, Doug Robertson and Scott Sinclair. The reception was held at Old Town County Club, Winston-Salem, N.C. The Yorks took a wedding trip to Antigua. They will reside in Winston-Salem, NC.
