Cub Scout Pack 725 recently visited the USS Yorktown. Back row, from left: Coleman Warder, Dalton Hager, Matthew McCord, Keishaun Venning, Jimmy Grice, William Edwards, William Kenney. Front row, from left: Parker Warder, Joe Justis, Coy Garriot, Trey Grubb, Ben Patrick.

Local Cub Scout Pack 725 recently relived a part of history when they participated in the overnight camping program aboard the World War II Aircraft Carrier USS Yorktown located on Charleston Harbor. The overnight campers became shipmates with others youngsters as they all toured USS Yorktown, World War II Submarine “Clamagore,” World War II Destroyer “Laffey” and World War II Coast Guard Cutter “Ingham.”

For the full effect of living aboard a famous World War II ship, the morning and evening meals were prepared and served to the overnight campers in the “Chief’s Mess” aboard the USS Yorktown. Pack 725 also enjoyed a boat ride to Fort Sumter – where the Civil War began.

Pack 725 is sponsored by Knightsville United Methodist Church. The Cub Master is Mark Edwards and their website is www.cubscoutpack725.net.
