The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office has apparently put the brakes on a string of burglaries and vehicle thefts that have been plaguing the Summerville/Ladson area of the county for some time.
BCSO Public Information Officer Dan Moon said the BCSO believes the burglaries and at least five vehicle thefts in the Summerville and Ladson area of the county have been solved as a result of the arrests of two pairs of brothers July 27.
The crimes, which occurred mainly in neighborhoods near Royle Road, will clear numerous incident reports involving stolen vehicles, boats, power tools and many other items, Moon said.
Four suspects, who all live in the area the crimes occurred, were taken into custody on various charges July 27, Moon said.
Tillman Lee Harmon, 37, of 118 Blueridge Lane and his brother, Rex L. Harmon, 23, of 2162 Ridge Church Road, stand charged with receiving and possession of stolen goods. Jonathan Loren Haynes, 20, of 1827 Eastside Street, was charged with Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle. His brother, Matthew Allan Craven, 23, also of 1827 Eastside Street, was charged with Grand Larcency, Moon said.
Moon said investigators expect more charges against the four suspects will be forthcoming, including three charges for armed robbery one of the suspects.
