A Summerville woman reported that she had met a man at the flea market and had asked him to come “hang out” at her apartment. She left the man alone there and when she returned she found that he was gone and her car was gone. She was unable to provide any further information about the man other than he was a black male, nor could she say that he is responsible for taking her car.
The car is a black and gray 1991 Acura Legend.
A taxing dilemma
A Summerville woman reported that she went to complete her 2009 tax forms but it was red-flagged because someone already had used her son’s social security number for their 2009 tax forms. She was advised by the Federal Trade Commission to obtain a police report so they could assist her with the situation.
The case is under investigation.
More missing from motor vehicle
A Summerville man reported that someone entered his truck while it was parked at his residence on King Charles Drive and stole several items, including a radio receiver and a GPS unit. The man did say he had left the vehicle unlocked.
The investigating officer was able to lift fingerprints from the door handle and take them into evidence. The case is under investigation.
Missing tools
In a separate incident, a man who lives on West Third North Street reported that someone broke into his residence through a window at the rear of the house and stole several tools, including a porter cable, air compressor, two air guns, a router and a drill. Fingerprints were taken and placed into evidence and the case is under investigation.
