A natural reaction…
An officer on patrol saw a man urinating in the woods near John McKissick Way and reported that he was stopping to speak with the subject. Because of recent criminal activity in the area, other officers also responded and joined the first officer in his questioning of the subject.
The officer asked the man why he was urinating in the woods and the man replied that it was a “natural reaction.” When asked if he had been drinking, the man replied that he had a few beers but was not drunk, then told officers “you would do the same thing.”
Since he was intoxicated, they arrested him and transported him to the detention center.
Initials?
A Summerville woman reported that she had parked at the Piggly Wiggly on Central Avenue, Knightsville to pick up a few items. When she returned to her car, she saw that someone had written the letters “FU” in the mud that covered her truck. No damage was done, and no suspects were located.
Lock your doors, already…
At least three incidents of theft from motor vehicles have been reported within a few days of each other. In each case, items were stolen from unlocked vehicles. No damage was done to the vehicles.

The manager of a movie theater in Summerville called police after discovering two women attempting to videotape the move “Alice In Wonderland” on a cell phone. The responding officer approached the subjects and told them they were violating copyright laws by doing what they were doing. One of the subjects said she was just making screen savers for her cell phone, that she did not know she was violating any laws, and agreed to delete the videos. The manager of the theater chose not to put the women on trespass notice, but did request an informational report from the officer.
