Aggravated assault

A Ladson woman reported that her teen-age daughter was baby-sitting at the Oakbrook Village Apartments playground when an unknown subject, a black male approached her daughter and grabbed her rear end. The victim told the subject, “leave me the hell alone,” and started to walk away. The subject then asked her what her breast size was. She then started walking toward one of the buildings and the subject got his bicycle and left the area. The victim said she did not know the subject and did not get that good a look at him, but did describe him as a black male, 16-17-years-old, about 5’11” tall and 150 pounds, wearing a white t-shirt, dark pants and short afro hair style.

The complainant reported the incident to the apartment complex manager as well.

Don’t steal, don’t tell

In a separate incident, a Ladson woman reported that while she was gone on vacation she allowed her ex-boyfriend access to her residence and he took several items without her knowledge or consent, including a credit card, a check, and a $500 Wal Mart gift card, He later made three unauthorized transactions around the North Charleston area and forged the check for $2,750 and deposited in an account with SunTrust Bank.

The woman provided the responding officer with test messages from the subject stating he would repay all the money he took if she could give him time and not contact law enforcement. The officer tried to contact the subject but was unable to get in touch with him. However, a few minutes later, the subject sent the victim a text message while the officer was still present asking the victim not to press charges and saying he would repay the money.

The case is under investigation.

Suspicious car

An employee of the Enterprise Bank in Ridgeville reported seeing a suspicious vehicle parked next to some high shrubs and bushes just outside the bank. The employee said the vehicle, a Nissan Frontier, seemed to be parked s if to conceal itself from view.

The employee reported looking out the window about twenty minutes later and the vehicle was moving toward a bend in the road and was occupied by a male subject.

A deputy arrived on the scene and the employees pointed out the vehicle, which had returned. The deputy went out and spoke to the driver, who showed the deputy a North Charleston badge and just said he was checking his mail and waiting for the post office to reopen

The deputy suggested that he not park or sit next to the bank, as it seems to make the employees uneasy.

Flim flam

A St. George man reported that someone called him and identified himself as “Mr. Cooper” of United Investigations. The caller told the victim they had purchased an overdue account of his from Cash Advance in St. George and he owed $1,513.13. The victim said he was not sure if he had paid this, so he followed the caller’s directions and faxed all his personal information to another person the caller directed him to.

The victim said awhile later someone else called and told him he owed another $2,000 on another account and further stated he would pursue the matter with the police.

The victim then called Cash Advance, who told him their files had been hacked but they knew nothing about these incidents.
