Detente
A Summerville man reported that he and his neighbor had argued and he believed the neighbor had vandalized his property. The argument, over family matters and friendships, apparently has been ongoing since June. The complainant showed the officer where someone had shot up his house and vehicle with a BB Gun, causing some $3,500 damage.
The complainant further stated he and the neighbor used to be friendly but he believes recently the neighbor has been coming onto his property and stealing items.
The deputy then spoke with the neighbor, pointing out that the trajectory of the shots had to come from the direction of his house. The neighbor agreed that was probably true and told the deputy he would speak to his son about the matter. The deputy then served the neighbor with a no trespass notice; the neighbor responded by swearing out a no trespass notice on the complainant.
Identity theft
A Summerville woman reported that she had gone to an appointment with her accountant to discuss her taxes only to be informed that the accountant had checked with the IRS and discovered someone had already filed the taxes from another source in South Carolina.
The woman said the IRS told her to report the situation as possible identity theft, which she did; she also called all her financial institutions as well.
Armed robbery
Deputies responded to a call about a robbery at a residence on Central Avenue. When they arrived, they spoke to the victims, an 18-year-old male and two females, age 18 and 19. They told officers an unknown white male armed with a small revolver had kicked in the door to their residence and herded the three victims to the kitchen table, then asked the whereabouts of another roommate, a 21-year-old male.
They told the intruder they did not know where he was; he called them liars and took all the cell phones on his way out. They said he got into a silver/blue four-door truck and left the area with a large, heavyset blonde female who was sitting in the truck.
Hungry thieves
A Reevesville woman reported that she and her sister went into a storage shed on their property to straighten it up and discovered several items missing, including a digital crock pot, George Foreman rotisserie, George Foreman grill toaster and waffle maker, a pancake grill, a Purex Dish set, and a turkey fryer, as well as a vacuum cleaner and camcorder.
Total value of the missing items is $784.
