Delayed reaction
A Summerville man reported that someone got into his vehicle and stole a number of items, including a computer and his wallet, which contained several credit cards and his debit card. The man said he did not realize anything was missing until two days later when his bank’s fraud department called to inform him of several charges totaling $980 made at the Wal Mart in Ladson.
In addition to the debit card, three credit cards and a checkbook were missing.
Stalking
A 29-year-old Summerville woman reported that she was traveling on Main Street in Summerville when she passed her ex-husband who was riding a motorcycle. She turned onto Highway 78 and said she saw him following her and said she could see a gun tucked into the rear of his pants. She said he followed her almost all the way to her residence before turning onto a street just before she reached her house.
She then called DCSO and while she was on the phone with dispatch saw him ride by again.
Both the victim and her husband saw the ex husband ride by. She says her ex has a history of violence and was arrested for criminal domestic violence when they were married. She said she is in fear because she does not know what he might do when he gets angry.
Invasion of privacy
In an unrelated incident, a 28-year-old Summerville woman reported that she had recently been given a copy of a DVD that depicted her in a sexual situation and that the video had been made without her knowledge or permission. She said the video depicts her having sexual relations in her bedroom with a 39-year-old Summerville man on an unknown occasion.
The man’s ex-employer said he had found this and other pornographic materials on hard drives the subject had kept in his possession. The case is under investigation.
Breach of trust
Summerville police responded to a call at CVS about a possible breach of trust incident. Officers spoke to the manager, who stated that he had video, paper, and electronic evidence that an employee had turned in a deposit for the store to Wachovia Bank that was $1,000 less than it should have been.
Video surveillance showed the employee in question removing an extra envelope and deposit slip from above the desk in the office. The receipt from the bank was wadded into a ball to render it illegible. Computer print outs for the registers showed store sales to be $1,000 more than the bank deposit. This employee was also the only one responsible that day for taking the deposit to the bank.
The case is under investigation.
