Location: Cooper’s Ridge Apartments, Ladson

Date: July 26, 2010

Time of day: Between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Items stolen: Computer equipment, video game system, jewelry, electronics

Total value: $3,000

Incident report details: Complainant arrived home and noticed the deadbolt on his front door seemed loose. He said he entered the apartment and noticed a number of items missing, including two flat screen televisions, an X Box 360 system, WII system, jewelry, and other items.

Suspect(s): Unknown

Responding agency: Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office

Type of theft: Larceny

Location: Charleston Highway, St. George, Wilco Station

Date: July 21, 2010

Time of day: Between11 and 11:15 p.m.

Items stolen: Diesel Fuel

Total value: $1,539

Incident report details: Complainant reported that on July 19, a man from Miami, Florida entered the store to have a pump turned on so he could fill his tank. He came back in to pay for 21.3 gallons of fuel. He returned on the above time and date to have the pump turned on and came back in to pay for 6.9 gallons of diesel fuel. However, it was later found that some 445 gallons had actually been dispensed from that pump during the time the man was there. The pump was inspected and found to have been tampered with; someone had pried it open and disconnected the fuel counter.

Type of theft: Larceny

Location: Barberry Street, Summerville

Date: Between June 30 and July 2, 2010

Time of day: Between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Items stolen: Checks

Total value: $376.96

Incident report details: Complainant reported that her ex-boyfriend stole a retirement fund check made out to her and deposited it into his account. The complainant had previously endorsed it for deposit only into her account, but he apparently had crossed out her account number and written in his, then signed the check and scanned it with his computer.

Suspect(s): Known

Responding agency: Summerville Police Department
