Pinewood Prep retired the No. 24 jersey of Milton Jennings during a Jan. 13 ceremony in the school’s gym.

Jennings, one of the most talented athletes to ever play for the Pinewood Boys Basketball program, joined school officials between the Pinewood Girls and Pinewood Boys basketball games and was presented with a framed version of his old Panther jersey. He was already a member of the Pinewood High School Hall of Fame, an honor bestowed upon him in 2015.

Jennings is one of the elite players who cracked the Pinewood Inner Circle, meaning he was named the Region Player of the Year the same season he led the Panthers to a state championship. He scored 2,536 points during his years with the Pinewood varsity team.

Jennings was named to the SCISA All-State Team four times ('06, '07, '08 and '09) and received All-region honors five times ('05, '06, '07, '08 and '09). He received Region Player of the Year honors three times ('07, '08 and '09).

For both 2008 and 2009, he was named the South Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year, SCISA Player of the Year and High School Sports Report Player of the Year. In 2009, he was named a McDonalds All American.

With Jennings’ help, Pinewood claimed the state championship for its classification in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009.

After graduating from high school, Jennings played for three seasons at Clemson University before signing with Mobyt Ferrara, an Italian professional team. According to TigerNet.com, Jennings averaged 12.5 points and 7.7 rebounds per game for the team in 2013.
