Oysters and chili are the hallmarks of the Habitat for Humanity annual oyster roast to be held Saturday at Summerville Country Club.

The Dorchester Habitat for Humanity Oyster Roast and Chili Cook-Off will be offering more bang for the buck on Jan. 21.

This year’s fundraiser will be held at Summerville Country Club, 400 Country Club Blvd.

In addition to local Bulls Bay oysters, chili, hot dogs, coffee, desserts and a bonfire, the evening will also feature fireworks.

Winner of the chili cook-off will receive the prestigious Golden Oyster Award for the Best Chili with a $100 Gift Certificate to an area restaurant as first prize.

The evening also features a silent auction of items repurposed by local artists.

Tickets to this year’s oyster roast are $25 for adults and $10 for children 12 years old and younger.

All proceeds will benefit Dorchester Habitat for Humanity located at 101 Greyback Road, Summerville. For information call (843) 851-1414.
