Kathryn Hinchee of Summerville was named to the dean's list at Duke University for the Fall 2007 semester. She was among 2,146 students who achieved the honor.
To make the dean's list, a student must rank in the top third of their college.
Hinchee is a sophomore at Duke and plans to major in Biology. She is a 2006 graduate of Pinewood Prep and is the daughter of Maud and Arlan Hinchee.
Rhode named to dean's list
Jamie Lyn Rhode of Summerville qualified for the fall 2007 Dean's List at Belmont University. Eligibility is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours and a quality grade point average of 3.5 with no grade below a C.
Jamie, the daughter of Lyn and Ramona Rhode of Jacksonville Beach, FL is majoring in Music Business. A 2005 graduate of Fort Dorchester High School, she is interning at Skyline Music Publishing.
Belmont University is located in Nashville, Tenn.
Phillips joins CSU Board of Visitors
Harold L. Phillips has joined Charleston Southern University's Board of Visitors.
Phillips retired after a 20-year career with State Farm Insurance and lives in Summerville. He will serve on the board until 2011.
Members of the Board of Visitors are select business and community leaders interested in furthering Charleston Southern's mission of promoting academic excellence in a Christian environment.
