Piano Scholarship 2008

Six piano students of Dr. Myungsook Song Stoudenmire of Summerville were chosen as winners during the 2008 Piano Scholarship Recital held April 21st at Columbia College's Spears Music/Art Center.

The Recital is sponsored by the Columbia Music  Teachers Association. Students were selected from six age divisions by six professional adjudicators. Each participant was required to play two or three memorized pieces.

There were a total of 18 scholarship students from 76 participants. Students selected on Saturday, April 20th, played during the recital on Sunday, April 21st. Dr. Myungsook Song Stoudenmire of Summerville who also teaches at Charleston Southern University and also instructs students from the Summerville and Columbia area.

The following students of Dr. Stoudenmire were selected to participate in the winner's recital: Joy Quan, 1st grade student at Victory Bible Baptist Christian School; Haven Xu, 4th grade student at Westview Elementary School; Justin Tse, 3rd grade student at Victory Bible Baptist Christian School' Julia Whitten, 5th grade at Pinewood Preparatory School' Jennifer Yu, 6th grade at Chapin Middle School; An Kung, 12th grade at Pinewood Preparatory School.
