Trey Lewis, a recent graduate of Fort Dorchester High School, has been awarded a $6,000 scholarship through the Alcoa Foundation Sons and Daughters Scholarship Program.

This scholarship is payable in four annual installments of $1,500 each.

Lewis, whose father Rocky Lewis works at the Mount Holly Aluminum Company (a joint venture between Alcoa and Century Aluminum) was selected based on his academic achievement and potential, leadership ability, volunteerism/community service, and character.

Lewis is a Palmetto Fellows scholar, USC Deans Award scholar and National Merit semi-finalist. He plans to attend The Honors College at the University of South Carolina in the Fall with a major in Mathematics and a minor in Education.

Since 1953, the Sons and Daughters Scholarship Program has recognized outstanding academic achievement by awarding scholarships to thousands of students.  The program is open to the children of active full-time employees from the U.S. locations of Alcoa and its wholly-owned subsidiaries.  For more information about Alcoa Foundation, visit www.alcoa.com under Community.
