The Pinewood PTO generously donated $10,000 to the Professional Development Fund with a check presentation made at a PTO luncheon held to welcome teachers back to school.
Of the 90 members of the Pinewood faculty, more than 55% hold advanced degrees.
This would not be possible without the Pinewood Professional Development fund that supports teachers pursuing advanced degrees, faculty attending State and National conferences, and numerous continuing education opportunities.
The Pinewood PTO raises money for the school through programs such as spirit nights at local restaurants, the SCRIP gift card program, Sallie Foster sales, book fairs and many more programs. The Pinewood faculty showed their appreciation for the gift when, within a two week period, 100% of teachers became paid members of the Pinewood PTO.
