Cynthia Alston, President of the Summerville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, recently presented school supplies to Harleyville Ridgeville Elementary School. Items collected from chapter members on August 9, 2008 at the group’s annual retreat included school uniforms and books bags containing paper and pencils. The supplies were accepted by school guidance counselor Tremaine Rivers assistant principal Tracy Jackson, and school Principal Dr. Morris Ravenell.
Delta Sigma Theta is a national public service organization. Since its chartering in 1988, the Summerville Alumnae Chapter has provided continuous service to the Dorchester County community.
