Julian “Doc” Davis, football coach at Ashley Ridge High School, was recently inducted into the South Carolina Athletic Coaches Association’s Hall of Fame. Bo Blanton, DD2 Board Chairman, and Joseph Pye, DD2 Superintendent, commended him at the Board meeting.

Julian “Doc” Davis was recently inducted into the South Carolina Athletic Coaches Association’s Hall of Fame. The first-year football coach at Ashley Ridge High School has been coaching for 34 years.

Prior to his arrival at Ashley Ridge, he spent the last 18 years as head coach for Spartanburg High School. While with Spartanburg, Davis won State Championships in 1991, 1994, 1995, 1996 and 2001.

On Monday, Oct. 13 at the DD2 Board meeting, Davis was congratulated for his induction into the Hall of Fame.

“Coach Davis is an icon for high school football in South Carolina, winning many state football championships and many personal honors and awards for his leadership on the field as well off,” said Pat Raynor, DD2 Public Information Officer.

Coach Davis is a class act - not just successful in winning games, but successful in building character in our youth. We are fortunate to have him in DD2.
