The WBHS newly DIGITAL morning show rang out with a song by Ms. Seitz’s K4 class entitled "Reduce, Recycle, Reuse" to begin Earth Day 2009 at Beech Hill Elementary School.

Principal Rene Wyatt Harris read to children about taking care of the Earth. Teachers included lessons on recycling, the effects of pollution, conserving energy and littering in their Earth Day events.

Ms. Bowlin had children determine the material their trash was made of so they could properly select how to recycle it. In KD, Ms. Holt had her students make paper mache models of the earth.

Ms. Owens had her class do some planting in honor of Earth Day. Beech Hill's Nurture House is sponsoring a Recycling Club to help with their theme of protecting the Environment.

Beech Hill has even gone "green" in producing its newsletter, planning and executing a school-wide emailing of the newsletter instead of using up paper to print it. Beech Hill is committed to working with the community to protect the environment.
