Each year, Charleston Men’s Chorus (CMC) awards four scholarships to vocal music majors at both the College of Charleston and Charleston Southern University.  Recipients of this year’s scholarships include Summerville native Robert Culbreth and Goose Creek native Robert “Tanner” Nix. These scholarships are possible through ticket sales as well as substantial donations given by loyal patrons and businesses.  Donations are now being accepted for the 2009-2010 season.

The chorus will resume its weekly rehearsals beginning Monday, September 14 at 5:30 p.m. at the St. Philip's Episcopal Church choir room located at 142 Church Street, 2nd floor in downtown Charleston.  Rehearsals will be held each Monday at this location.  New members are welcome and should call (843) 720-8505 prior to attending a weekly rehearsal to schedule an informal audition.

The group stands strong with approximately 70 members led by Director Lon H. Shull, III and accompanied on piano by Pamela Nelson. This season's concerts will include Christmas at the Sottile on December 12; a special Spring Concert on March 21, 2010; and the beloved Memorial Day Concert on May 31, 2010 at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church.

For information about concerts, tickets, rehearsals or becoming a sponsor of the Charleston Men's Chorus, please call (843) 720-8505 or visit the group’s Web site at www.cmchorus.com.
