Harding University
Hannah Buzhardt, of Summerville, was among nearly 600 graduates who received diplomas in commencement exercises at Harding University May 9. Buzhardt received the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
Annalise Lester, of Summerville, a junior dietetics major at Harding University, will spend five weeks in the Harding University Experience London! program where she will focus on the city’s music, theatre and arts.
Furman University
Scott D. Parnell, a Furman University senior from Summerville, has been selected to receive a 2009 Fund for Theological Education (FTE) Undergraduate Fellowship, which recognizes students who have gifts for leadership and are exploring the possibility of ministry as a vocation. Parnell will receive $2,000 for tuition, other educational expenses or a self-designed experience related to the exploration of ministry.
Columbia College
Kristina Olivia Black-Goode, Sylvestra Caroline Bradley and Synetria Lachell Jones, all of Summerville, were named to the Columbia College dean’s list for spring semester 2009. Rhianon Rose Neumann, of Ladson, and Ginger Michelle Smiley, of Summerville, was named to the president’s list.
Saint Leo University
Dylan Sempsey, of Summerville, was named to the dean’s list at Saint Leo University for the spring 2009 semester. He is an International Business major.
Virginia Tech
Andrew Merrow, of Summerville, was named to the dean’s list at Virginia tech for the spring 2009 semester. Merrow is a sophomore majoring in general engineering.
